One of the biggest challenges of managing any website is updating and adding content.  The Text Editor module is designed to simplify the process of adding content to your site.  With an easy to use format similar to today’s most commonly used word processors, such as Microsoft Word™ and Sun StarOffice™, the text editor will allow beginning users to easily create and update site content.  Power users will find the text editor a valuable tool as well with features such as the ability to write HTML in your editor of choice and copy it directly into the text editor to create the content for your page.

One important aspect of any site is text formatting; layout and color compatibility play an important role in this aspect.  The text editor will enable you to select pre defined styles with compatible colors for your site to allow you to easily stylize your text in a way that coordinates with the site theme.  Of course, you can also tweak the text to any color, size and style if that is your preference.  Alternatively, you can write all your content in Microsoft Word™ and with the “Paste from Word” feature you can simply copy and paste your content and the formatting will be preserved.  

In order to aid in and expedite the page layout process, users will be able to select from a set of predefined layout templates to easily have your content displayed in an organized manner.  The text editor also features tools to align text, create tables and change spacing if you wish to create your own layout, but have little experience with HTML.     

Want to add some personalization to your pages? The merge option allows you to customize the page with information pulled from your site database.  You can select fields from the database including user information, as well as your own company information and have it display on the page.  You can choose as many fields as you would like to use for each page.  For example, you could select “First Name” and anytime a logged in user went to that page they would see their first name displayed.  The merge feature will allow you to tailor your pages to make the users feel a level of personalization.  

The text editor doesn’t just allow you to create and edit text; it will also enable you to add media rich content (i.e. Flash and image files), create links out of text and objects, create a mobile version of the page and keep an archived history of all revisions which you can easily restore from.
